The dawn phenomenon
Hormones rise in the early morning to help the body wake. That can signal the liver to release glucose, and people with diabetes may see a morning rise.
Other clues
A late meal, stress, illness, a pump-site problem or an insulin pattern that needs review may look similar.
- Compare bedtime, overnight and waking information when available.
- Check delivery equipment if the rise is sudden or unusual.
- Take repeated patterns—not a self-prescribed dose change—to your team.
